Currently our club has over 80 members. We are dedicated to serving the children of our community. Durant Kiwanis Club is currently involved in several civic activities including: Elementary School Track Meet, Meals on Wheels, Families Feeding Families, Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt and the adoption of the Schuler Kiwanis Park on North Fourth.
The Kiwanis Club of Durant has a rich heritage of service to its community of Durant and Bryan County as well as furnishing leadership to its division, district and Kiwanis International. It continues to be recognized as one of the truly outstanding service clubs in its community and in the Texas-Oklahoma District, as well as throughout Kiwanis International. We are now in our 61st year of “altruistic service” to Durant and Bryan County, true to our motto, ‘WE BUILD'!

The name “Kiwanis” means “we trade” or “we share our talents.” It was coined from an American Indian expression, Nunc Kee-wanis.
Kiwanians are volunteers changing the world through service to children and their communities. Kiwanis members help shelter the homeless, feed the hungry, mentor the disadvantaged, and care for the sick. They develop youth as leaders, build playgrounds, raise funds for pediatric research, and much more. No problem is too big or too small. Why? Because working together, members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone. When you give a child a chance to learn, experience, dream, and succeed, great things happen! Anyone can become a Kiwanis Member, but to be a true Kiwanian, one must give of themselves through the various activities that our great club does throughout the year.
If you are interested in joining our club please get in contact with a current member, or fill out the membership request form. You may also contact our current president if you are interested in becoming a member. We look forward to having new members join us.
Kiwanis starts with individual members in a local club. Each club is a member of one of 38 divisions in the Texas-Oklahoma District.
Texas-Oklahoma is one of 52 districts throughout the world which comprise Kiwanis International. Total Kiwanis membership, including our Sponsored Youth Programs, exceeds 600,000 worldwide.
At the international level, Kiwanians raised more than $75 million to virtually eliminate worldwide Iodine Deficiency Disorder (IDD), a leading cause of mental retardation. Now the Kiwanis organization has teamed with UNICEF to battle and end neonatal tetanus through our newest project PROJECT ELEMINATE.
At the district level, Kiwanians, though their Foundation, provide more than $100,000 in assistance each year to deserving high school and college students.
At the local club level Kiwanians work tirelessly in their local communities to make the world a better place in which to live, one child at a time.
